Sin

Sin by definition means to miss a mark or standard. It's to fall short of what is expected, sinning in itself is inevitable. You can sin knowingly or unknowingly, deliberately or by error. How the sin is handled depends on the one sinning and the one sinned against. To sin does not necessarily mean against God, being sinned against is not a performative of God, even though essentially it should be. I'm what is called "The Lord's prayer", we are told, to ask forgiveness for our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. This shows that its not only God Who get sinned against but us as well. Perhaps someone said or did something to you, which may or may not be covered by the commandments but is sort of part of your standard. They have, wronged you or sinned against you, whether they are aware or unaware is beyond is not important for now. How you handle that, matters because it determines how God handles you. This is important, in the Christian faith, it is better to be sinned against than to sin against... Mat 5 23, when you offer your gift at the altar and remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift and first be reconciled with him. This is perhaps one of the trickiest situations we face as Christians. Does this verse imply that I have a grudge or someone has a grudge against me? It can go either way, but in order to know that you have sinned against someone they would have to tell you, you are not a mind reader on the other hand, if you have been sinned against, you should verbalize it and not hold it in your heart because God will not hear you. To ask for forgiveness, you have to say sorry, and mean it. It's very important to understand what the sin is because you may end up doing the same thing over and over again. And it is important as well, to ensure that the person who has sinned against you understand what they did and why it is wrong, because there is no sin without knowledge and no one is held accountable for breaking laws they did not know. We often overlook the sins we have against others because we're focussed on those we have with God. But God wants us treat each other the way He treats us. How the other person perceives the sin is beyond the one sinned against, what this means is, it is not God's or anyone's responsibility to acknowledge the sin on the sinners behalf. If the person refused to acknowledge they have sinned, they stand condemned. If God explicitly tells you something is a sin, and you refuse to acknowledge it as sin, it does not get registered into the parcel of forgiven sins because it's not an acknowled sin. Think of it this way, when you ask God to forgive you of your sins, you're only placing the things you regard as sins on the altar, not the things God regards as sins. What we are forgiven by God does not depend on what He thinks is sin or what we think is sin but in what we have agreed upon that it sin. What this means is, we need to go to God and plead guilty, so that we get legal representation. If I plead not guilty in this court I am 100% guaranteed that God will find a fault and I will be punished accordingly. In essence, the sins are forgiven not based on the standard of Yahweh but on the standard of Yahweh I acknowledge, because even though they knew, they refused to acknowledge Him as God and He therefore allowed them to go astray. Ever since the fall of mankind, the battle with God has been determining what is good and what is evil, and to be Christians, we need to let go of our definitions of good and evil in exchange for His. On judgment day, there will be a dialogue between mankind and God over what is good and evil. To refuse to acknowledge what God says is good as good and what He says is evil as evil, is to deny Him being God. Heaven will not be filled with good people, it will be filled with people who for one acknowledged they were wrong and God was right. It will be filled with people who though were sinned against, chose to forgive and show mercy instead of punishment. Unlike the servant who was forgiven a higher penalty by the king and punished his fellow servant for a lower price. We cannot put a price higher that the blood of Jesus on the altar, and all He asks from us it to let go of the smaller things in this life, to let go of our own hurting, and consider others hurting even more than ours. Which bring me to my last point, do not wait to be begged for forgiveness, do not even expect it, do not put a condition that you only forgive those who say sorry. This is the last point I swear🤣 To die in sin🙈 there's a belief among some Christians that where you are or what you were doing on your last moments on earth somehow determines your destiny. Like someone who died while drunk, or was involved in some dispeakable activities, or someone who's last act on earth was a sin, like suicide. Nothing can be farther from the truth, with that standard, all of us will eventually die while sinning. The opposite of that would mean dying while holy, but no one is holy enough not to need cleansing to heaven. You cannot die in holiness, we all die in sin, we were born in sin and if it wasn't for Jesus, that last sin we committed before we died would not be forgiven. If you have a forgiving heart, you will be forgiven of your sins and if you're forgiven you're sinless, that's the only way to be sinless. Because, Jesus takes away our sins, permanently, but He needs us to do the same for others. God was willing to forgive us, even though it killed him🔥 Satan has never died, and technically, God stood so low that his greatest nemesis was above Him. He could have exterminated the whole of creation but because of each of us chose not to, and He died for you as much as He died for the other person. Earlier I mentioned this, so I'll clarify it a bit. Forgiving someone is not for them, its for you, you're not doing them a favour, if anything. Holding a grudge only hurts you, both eternally and temporaly⚓
