Void and Glory

Jesus performed many miracles, He however said there would be some who would perform greater miracles than He had. Notably, Paul would heal people just by having his shadow pass on them, others were healed by his handkerchief without him being physically present. The identity of Jesus as Christ, wasn't tied to what He was capable of doing, it was rather tied to His character. Jesus said that His disciples would be seen as such based on their spiritual fruit, and even in the last days, the antichrist will be leading many astray by performing signs and wonders. However, the giveaway would be his fruit, and true believers will not be deceived or follow him. God is sufficient in Himself, lacking nothing, and He cannot "help" (Himself) but give, without taking as He doesn't have a place to put. God doesn't have an empty place or void in His Heart, which needs you or I to fill. His Heart is filled with His Own Glory. God's Heart is abundant in love, patience, k...

By Their Fruit

Jesus taught that the mark of His real disciples would be by their fruit. And Paul went on give a more a detailed version of what the fruit is. It's a personal mark, to show if I am walking in the Spirit, it's a mark for those around me that they are walking in the Spirit, it is also a mark for those who lead and teach, that they're walking in the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness etc. These are regarded as the fruit, not fruits, meaning these are qualities you would expect from someone bearing the Spiritual fruit its not what you may look for one person and not see others. *It's all of nothing*. Jesus said that we are to abide in Him, and this fruit will come. And if we don't we will wither and die, and so will the fruit we bear, carnal and in war with the Spirit The fruit of the Spirit, is a teaching which no false teacher would dare speak of. And if they do they would downplay them, or make them insignificant in our ...

Identify in Christ

Identity in Christ "Let us create mankind in Our Own Image" are the words spoken by Elohim. God was the first to identify everything that would revolve around man and planned things to be in place before He created Him. Since the fall, who mankind is has shifted from the absolute to relative, meaning man defines himself to his fellow man and inevitably to God as well. When man identifies himself to God He speaks gibberish. His words lose meaning and purpose when they approach the throne of God. The closer they get, the more meaning they lose. Same goes for God as well, in order for man to know his identity in Christ, he would have to dig into the eternal where language doesn't exist. Now there's two problems, the that man wants to identify himself in a realm which is not his own. In order for him to know his identity he has to listen to however God describes it and live as it. God doesn't negotiate Who He is and who mankind is. Because there's no way to kno...

Have Faith

Image
Faith from the secular point of view is associated with wishful thinking, fairytales, like Santa and the tooth fairy. Secularists would regard religion in the same category, at more times even have more faith in them than Christianity. Faith is not wishful thinking, God is not genie, nor an ATM, He's not a machine. From the theological point of view, Faith is believing on hearing God, its believing in the power of God, its believing in the will of God and His eternal plan. We all have Faith, but there is something about Faith that sets us apart as Christians and even as individuals. We might have Faith in the same thing but it would not be the same. We might even say and do the exact same things and our Faith would still differ. Faith is even more unique than our DNA, Jesus would say time and again "Your Faith ". And it was this faith that unlocked doors which were closed, closed those which were open. God did not demand much from us, just Faith. When they asked how bi...

No one is replaceable

This post is not only for Christians but non Christians alike, it's for those of us who have been hurt or are hurting, those who have been segregated, those who have or are losing hope in a loving God. When God created you, He did not create another you, it's just you and it can only be you. The role you play cannot be played by anyone else but you, it could not be played by anyone else, in past or present or future. It's so significant that the world as we know it could not have existed if you weren't a part of it. You cannot be anyone else as much as they cannot be you, trying to be someone or something you were not made to be is futile. There are challenges which only you can face, there are certain things which cannot be done by anyone else but you and if you do not do them, no one else will. Your role in this kingdom of God cannot be superimposed, it cannot be replaced, it cannot be altered. God wants you to be the best you He created you to be, He wants you to pla...

The Problem of Evil

Image
The problem of evil has puzzled humanity for ages, its even recorded in one of the oldest texts in the bible, the book of Job. Job's friends were as confused as many are today, not comprehending how an all powerful God would allow evil to take place. There are obviously diverse reasons for evil and human suffering, some of which cannot be explained in this place or time. This devotion will be an attempt to go through some of the more general reasons for evil in this world. With the power of the Holy Spirit, let us uncover some of them. We need to recall that in the beginning, when God created all things, from start to finish, He persistently saw that it was GOOD. Our ancestors, did not know good and evil but only good, i.e. Adam and Eve. They knew good and evil after having disobeying God. Things became lesser good than initially were. This explains how evil started from the perspective of human beings. In the angelic realm, the rebellious acts of Satan and his angels can be def...
